Khaunte said the state government has already approached the Centre with regard to visas for international digital nomads and added that it is confident of receiving assent for the same. "Goa has serene beaches and quality space that digital nomads need," he said. International digital nomads are quality tourists, as they usually stay for longer periods, Khaunte said.
The minister spoke in the presence of Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye, who is also the chairman of Infotech Corporation of Goa Ltd., Polumatla P Abhishek, director of the department of IT and Praveen R Volvotkar, managing director of Infotech Corporation of Goa Ltd, during the inauguration of the Tech-Media Startup Expo, which is being organised at the Campal promenade near the Lord Parshuram statue.
The tech expo has been organised as a side event of the ongoing International Film Festival of India 2023.
