Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kunal on Tuesday felicitated students of IIT Goa for implementing various IT initiatives in the state during the recently concluded state Assembly elections.
The office of the CEO, Goa in association with the IIT Goa had implemented various IT initiatives in the state for general elections 2022.
The IIT Goa students had worked on Telegram, an artificial intelligence-based Chatbot system to assist the electors with electoral process-related queries.
"Know your polling station was one of the features of Chatbot. This app became popular among youngsters in resolving their election-related queries. Another application developed by the IIT students was implementing artificial intelligence-based webcasting to calculate headcount at real time and display on screen so as to monitor crowds at polling stations on polling day. This was the first of its kind initiative implemented in the country and highly appreciated by the ECI. Further, absentee voters management portal was designed and developed by the IIT students," the CEO office said in a press communiqué issued here.
CEO Kunal congratulated all the students and Prof. Sharad Sinha for launching such unique initiatives for election purposes. Appreciating the efforts of Prof. Sinha and his team, he said the app was very helpful during the polling day.
He appealed to all the students to come out with new inventions which will help and facilitate the society at large with modern things in the fast-paced digital world.
