The government has rejected the proposal of Spark Healthline Private Limited of constructing a floating jetty for water sports activity and boat cruise in the Mandovi bay at Reis Magos and a 5-star hotel near the Reis Magos fort. The company's proposal to set up a 4-star hotel near the Reis Magos fort has been approved

"Two electronics related projects have been approved, of which one is an ESDM, which is first time project," said an elated Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, speaking to reporters after chairing the IPB meeting.

The proposed ESDM is a project of Optel Vision India Private Ltd, a subsidiary of the Optel Vision based in Canada and engaged in providing serialisation and aggregation solutions to pharmaceutical companies.

Parsekar further said that the first project of agro-eco tourism with a proposed investment of Rs 15 crore which is expected to give jobs to 100 individuals has been approved in Canacona taluka.

Electronics manufacturing unit to come up at Verna

The government has approved setting up of the first Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) unit in the state which will come up at the Verna industrial estate. The Investment Promotion Board (IPB) met on Monday and granted approval to fourteen new projects with an estimated investment of Rs 718 crore which will create 2,608 jobs.
